New business cards!

I just got some AMAZING new business cards in the mail. I am so stoked to pass these guys out!

I worked with Zida to use my design on her letterpress. She had the fabulous idea to use apple green foil for my url on the front. I think they look devine!

"Vacation!"

Vacation, sort of :)

I will be out of town this week, heading up to Lake Shuswap in Cananda B.C., with the Highschool youth group from our church.

No internet, no cell service. I will be back to modern conveniences by Friday night.

Fireworks on the 4th!

Just thought I would share some of my pictures from this weekend. 

My husband, David, and I played around with a long exposure on my SLR to get these fun pictures of the sparklers spelling words. I must confess, he had to "write" all of them. I tried, I really did, but it looked worse than a doctors signature. Not even legible.

We walked out to the end of the dock and watched the fireworks going off all around the lake. Someone let off a couple right on our dock, so I got a few pictures of them exploding, right over my head. The man who was lighting the fireworks, was so close to where we were sitting, David had to cover my ears while I took the picture. Those things are so loud!

My best friend is MARRIED!

Last weekend my best friend Kristi got married.

Some of these pictures are from her bachelorette party, and some from the day of her wedding. Sorry I don't have more... it sure is hard to take them while you are in it!

Friday Harbour

This weekend David took me up to Friday Harbour, a Christmas present that wasn't able to be used until now, busy, busy, busy!

It was the perfect weekend to go. Great weather!

We stopped off in Mt.Vernon at the "famous" Chuck Wagon, once you've been- no need to go again :) Then we hopped on a ferry, slightly dissapointed we didn't see any Orcas.

Team Awesome

This weekend I had the pleasure of hosting a sleepover at my apartment, with the small group of Highschoolers I lead at our church.

It might take me a couple days to recover from major sleep depravation, but I had an absolute blast with these girls.

We started the night making mini pizzas and decorating cupcakes (homeade Lemon and Rosemary... mmmm). Then we all got dressed up for a mini glamour shots photo shoot. My favorite part of that was that each girl took a turn taking pictures of me, which means I ended up with 1,000 photos of me and just a couple hundred of all them together! I now have a super collection of my face in any mood I could imagine. My facebook profile will be upated numerous times in the next week... haha.

We then headed to Seattle to get a good view of the city, and us, of coarse. My favorite pictures of the night came from a little experimentaion with my flash. Love how we are running with the Seattle skyline going right through us.

When we got home, we made the most amazing fort I have ever seen, and veged on potatochips and candy... what a way to end the night.

Ferry Date

When a beautiful Saturday comes upon us, I can't stand spending it inside.  I've been wanting to take Kinsey on a ferry ride for quite some time, and have been scoping out the routes as I occasionally ride them for work.  As it turns out, Bainbridge Island has a cute little downtown, and is a nice 35 min. ride from Seattle.  So, we loaded up for a Ferry Date!

And, what fun is a Ferry Date without some photography time!?!  On the way over I used the time to continue to hone my skills with exposure and lighting.  I wanted to get better at one of Kinsey's favorite type of shots, the sunflare, she likes to call it. 

Once we got there, we began out little walk and found a cute harbor beach that no one was on (come to find out later it is probably because the mud was three inches deep due to low tide:).  But, it did provide a shot that I love because it marries three things I love, my wife, boats, and the sun.  On top of that, I liked how Kinsey's personality came through.
